Vega Digital Awards is an international competition that recognizes the achievements of creative design, video production, and advertising companies. With profound respect for the professionals who are the driving force behind the global digital communications industry, they seek to reward the ‘brightest stars’ in the world of digital communications, naming the competition ‘Vega’, after the brightest star in the galaxy. Flashframe Digital Media is honoured to receive the Arcturus and Centauri Awards for two of our recent video productions.
Flashframe Digital Media celebrates the season by supporting Holiday Helpers, a registered charity dedicated to making Christmas very special for deserving low-income families with young children. With the participation of generous donors, volunteers, and partners, Holiday Helpers provides each family on its list with a Christmas dinner, decorated tree, and customized gifts for every member of the household.
“Tell me a story.” Probably all of us remember uttering this when we were small … and many of us now hear the same words from our own children.
The truth is that stories aren’t just for kids. We grown-ups still read novels, go to the theatre, watch movies and TV shows, listen to books on tape. We want to find out whodunit, or savour the joy of budding romance, or shed tears when life deals a sad blow to the characters we relate to.
And this is why the art of storytelling works so well in a business context. It’s all about relating. A company can present impressive facts and complex graphs, with enthusiastic pitches to prove how advantageous its brand is. But nothing clicks like real stories about real people.
MarCom Awards is recognized as one of the oldest, largest, and most prestigious creative international competitions. Administered by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals, it is judged by industry professionals who seek companies and individuals whose work in marketing and communications exceeds a high standard of excellence.
We all know the strength of a brand, and we know how tough it can be to make your business stand out among a crowd of savvy competitors. Brand awareness is the prime objective for business marketers — and rightly so. Brands compete through pricing, products, services … but one of the greatest instigators of customer loyalty is emotional connectivity. People who come to know and trust you are highly motivated to sustain the relationship.
“Colour is all. When colour is right, form is right. Colour is everything, colour is vibration like music; everything is vibration.”
– Marc Chagall
The famed Russian-French artist, Chagall, understood the power of colour. So did the creators of the 1998 film, Pleasantville, which used colour as a metaphor for enlightenment, signalling the transformation from black-and-white banality to vibrant self-awareness. The red coat of the little girl in Spielberg’s monochrome film, Schindler’s List, symbolizes innocence within the horror, building an intense connection with the audience. And who can forget the impact when young Dorothy is thrust from her drab grey Kansas home into the brilliant explosion of colour in the land of Oz!
