An integrated advocacy campaign to support the government’s commitment to continuing operations at the Pickering Nuclear Facility until 2024.
Stakeholders in the nuclear industry needed a positive public voice to be heard at Queen’s Park to prevent the potential reversal of the government’s decision to keep the Pickering Nuclear Facility operational until the year 2024.
Big Red Oak helped to develop and disseminate a strong message to support the initiative through a robust campaign, including strategic planning, design and development of a microsite with an online petition, infographics and animated motion graphics, video content, graphic design for media banner ads, and the placement of targeted digital and print ads.
Our team worked collaboratively with industry stakeholders to develop concise and clear messaging on energy pricing and job protection, directed to regional residents, the general public, and the provincial government’s politicos and influencers.
The results were impressive. The microsite reached more than 21,000 new/unique users, with over 28,000 page views. Within five weeks, more than 10,000 signatures were secured for the petition submitted to the provincial government.
